MERCED, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - New playgrounds are coming to Merced, thanks to the First 5 Merced County Safe Play Initiative, the city's parks and recreation department said Wednesday.
The new playgrounds will be added at Merced's Regional Sports Complex and General Vang Pao Park.
The parks department says there will be inclusive playgrounds that will be designed with features that allow kids and caregivers of all abilities to play together.
The accessibility features will include ramps, sensory zones and adaptive swings.
General Vang Pao Park will have an inclusive swing area that will have double strap swings, nest swings, and pour in place fall surfacing.
