At least 20 police vehicles were present Wednesday around 1:15 p.m. The Salem Police Department made the announcement on X at 12:02 p.m. on Wednesday but provided no details, including whether anyone was killed. “There is a significant emergency response presence,” the agency wrote. Northeast River Road is shut down in both directions at Northeast Shangri La Avenue, according to Lt. Trevor Wenning, spokesman for the Keizer Police Department.
