Jan 22, 2025
Bakery Four, which helped usher in a modern wave of upscale, high-quality bakeries in Denver, said Wednesday that it plans to open a second location.
“We’re taking over the former Fox Run space at 3550 E. Colfax. We’re incredibly excited to bring our pastries to the east side of Denver,” the business wrote on Instagram.

Founded in 2019 by Shawn Bergin, Bakery Four’s first retail spot was a 350-square-foot space in Denver’s Highland neighborhood. In 2022, it moved to a 3,000-square-foot store at 4150 Tennyson St. to keep up with intense demand that resulted in long lines.
But the lines continued, and in 2024, Bergin opened Rich Spirit Bagels in Wheat Ridge as a standalone concept.
In addition to bagels and pastries, Bakery Four serves a variety of breads and rolls, tartines, cruffins, sandwiches, coffee and other treats.
The new, east Denver space will be inside the former Fox Run Cafe, which closed in October 2024; The Denver Post named it one of the saddest Denver closures of the year.
Bakery Four didn’t give a timeline for opening as it still has to go through the permitting process.
