CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - A victim who was shot several times inside an apartment on Trilby Ave. in Chicopee fired back at the suspect last Friday, police say. On Wednesday afternoon, the Chicopee Police Department released additional information after a portion of Trilby Avenue was closed for several hours for an investigation. At around 9:21 p.m. on Friday, a woman called 911 and said that someone had entered her apartment and shot her son. Chicopee woman arrested for allegedly hitting police officer with car The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for several gunshot wounds. During the investigation, it was revealed that the victim, who is a licensed gun owner, returned fire with his registered gun. MAP: Trilby Ave in Chicopee Police said this was an isolated incident and there was no public threat. The Chicopee Police Department along with the Massachusetts State Police continue to investigate, and they did not say whether anyone has been arrested at this time.
