Springfield to host police officer info session ahead of civil service exam

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The City of Springfield is hosting the second police officer exam information session prior to the state's upcoming civil service exam.

The Springfield Police Department hosted the first open house session on January 6 to teach interested residents about the civil service process. The second of these information sessions will be held on Monday, January 27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 299 Page Boulevard.

Springfield officers will speak directly with members of the public about their experience in the police force, and inform them on what to expect when taking the civil service exam.
The deadline to send in your application for the civil service exam to become a police officer is January 28 with a processing fee of $75. The written examination consists of three subtests, the Written Ability Test, the Life Experience Survey, and the Work Styles Questionnaire.
The next test date period will begin on March 15.
