Jan 22, 2025
PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Prince George County has announced its contract with a new bank for utility and tax payments, which will impact how residents pay their bills.
According to a Facebook post from the county, citizens will not be able to make utility account and tax payments at Bank of Southside (BSV) branches after Feb. 28 due to this new contract.
The county shared that there will still be a variety of payment options, including:
Online payments
In-person payments at the Treasurer's Office
Mail payments
County Drop Boxes: There are 2 boxes at the Administration Building -- one near the rear entrance of the building and the other attached to the building near the entrance by the Treasurer's Office.
"Prince George County is required to periodically seek competitive proposals for banking services to ensure the most effective use of taxpayer dollars," the county said. "Prince George County has had a longstanding relationship with BSV and this change is in no way a negative reflection on BSV."
