Uxbridge Schools Superintendent placed on leave after OUI charge

UXBRIDGE, Mass. (WLNE) — The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office said that Uxbridge Public Schools Superintendent Michael Baldassarre was arrested in Bolton for allegedly operating under the influence.
Baldassarre was charged with OUI liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, and speeding.
He was arrested on Route 495 and was released on personal recognizance.
The Uxbridge School Committee told ABC 6 that Baldassarre was placed on paid administrative leave and that Assistant Superintendent Karen Dwyer was named as Interim Superintendent.
He is expected back in court on March 3.
