SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) -- Dr. Troy E. Meink, a Lemmon, South Dakota native has been named by President Donald Trump as the new United States Secretary of the Air Force.
Dr. Meink currently serves as the Principal Deputy Director of the National Reconnaissance Office.

Acording to the U.S. Air Force website he began his career in 1988 through an ROTX program at SDSU and began his career as a KC-135 Tanker Navigator, and later, as a test engineer for missile defense systems. President Trump said in a social media post that "Troy will work with our incredible Secretary of Defense Nominee, Pete Hegseth, to ensure that our Nation’s Air Force is the most effective and deadly force in the World, as we secure PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH."
