Thai restaurant Kalaya and chefs from Mawn and Vernick Fish among Philly's semifinalists for James Beard Awards

The 2025 James Beard Award semifinalists include more than a dozen restaurants or chefs in Philadelphia. Chef Greg Vernick is up for Outstanding Chef, and Fishtown Thai restaurant Kalaya is in the running for Outstanding Restaurant. Finalists will be revealed on April 2, followed by the Restaurant and Chef Awards in Chicago on June 16.
