Matt Hinckley gave College Park the old college try with Mid Drive Dive, but the midcentury-themed diner closed after nine months. Now Tamale Co.'s Fernando and Jennifer Tamayo will move into the space at 2401 Edgewater Drive, hoping to lure the neighborhood's denizens away from Tijuana Flats and PR's Taco Palace and into their 2,935-square-foot cantina, Tamale Co. Modern Mexican Kitchen & Bar. The pair have been serving their stellar tamales, tacos and street fare from the Tamale Co. inside the Hourglass Market for nearly six years, as well as from their Tamale Co. food truck since 2012.
