Fox Cities Performing Arts Center invites 100 high schoolers to experience 'The Lion King'

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) - High schoolers in northeast Wisconsin will get to see an iconic musical on Thursday at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center at a cheaper price.
In a partnership between the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center and Broadway Bridges on the Road, 100 students will see Disney's 'The Lion King' come to life on stage.

Broadway Bridges on the Road is an initiative from the Broadway League that aspires to expand access to touring performances for high schoolers across the United States.
The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center was one of two dozen select venues in 16 states to participate in the program's expansion.

"We know that our students in rural schools are facing some potential barriers from the time it takes and bussing costs," Fox Cities Performing Arts Center President and CEO Maria Van Laanen said. "We're thrilled that this program helps bring down some of those barriers."
Students in attendance will only have to fork up $10 for tickets. The participating students will be from Shawano Community High School, Chilton High School and Winnebago Lutheran Academy.
