Storm drainage project will result in detours on Summerville roadway

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – A significant roadway in Summerville will close temporarily for a storm drainage project next week, officials said Wednesday.
A road closure detour will be set up on N. Maple Street and W. 5th N Street to Shamrock Drive for a storm drainage installation project beginning Jan. 26.
“The overnight shutdown will affect N. Maple Street from W. 5th N Street to Old Dairy Road, using Old Dairy Road, Hodge Road, and Deming Way as a detoured route,” the project manager said.

The construction schedule is dependent on weather conditions. Traffic will be rerouted via flaggers and detour signs.
Motorists who drive near the construction zones are asked to be cautious and comply with traffic control signs.
