BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The sole occupant of a vehicle that crashed in a Shafter orchard over the weekend was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Police were called at 2:40 a.m. Sunday to the 31700 block of East Riverside Street and found a vehicle with major damage and a 27-year-old Shafter resident dead, according to a news release from the Shafter Police Department.
