FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 39-year-old man from Atwater died in a single-vehicle crash near Patterson Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.   CHP says around 5 p.m. officers responded to a crash on Frank Cox Road, just west of Cox Road.  Investigators say the driver was in a Lexus sedan headed eastbound, when he went off the road and onto the dirt shoulder for unknown reasons. The driver turned the Lexus to the left, causing it to rotate counterclockwise as it went off the northern edge of the road toward a dry concrete irrigation canal. CHP says the right-side tires struck the canal bank, causing the Lexus to overturn multiple times. The driver was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Both the Lexus and the driver came to rest inside the dry canal, according to CHP.
