Netflix raising prices again after reporting $1.87 billion quarterly profit

Netflix once again is raising the prices on its U.S. streaming plans, including its most basic viewing option, as it reports a better-than-expected $1.87 billion in quarterly profit.
The Los Gatos-based streaming giant is increasing the price of its standard plan, without ads, from $15.49 to $17.99 and its cheaper ad-supported plan from $6.99 to $7.99.
Netflix’s premium plan, now $22.99, will go up to $24.99.
Netflix Inc. on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $1.87 billion. The company posted revenue of $10.25 billion in the period, exceeding Wall Street forecasts. Eleven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $10.12 billion.
For the current quarter ending in March, Netflix said it expects revenue in the range of $10.42 billion. The company expects full-year revenue in the range of $43.5 billion to $44.5 billion.
