CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Temperatures were well below zero again Wednesday morning with Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee having a low temperature of -12 degrees.
It has been so cold that even parts of Florida saw snow on Tuesday. Morning temperatures on Wednesday were the coldest in years in western Massachusetts with many seeing temperatures between -10 to -20 degrees.
The air has been so cold in the eastern half of the country that parts of the south saw a historic snowstorm. With a large dip in the jet stream, an area of low pressure was able to form off the Gulf Coast and produce snow across Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida.

New Orleans saw 8.5 inches of snow which broke the city's record for snowfall that was set back in 1895, and Florida saw its largest snowfall in history where 9 inches of snow fell in Milton, Florida which is north of Pensacola on the panhandle.
7 Day Forecast
Temperatures are expected to climb heading towards the weekend back into the 30s.
