EOA to provide Low Income Energy Assistance for Pooler residents amid freeze

POOLER, Ga. (WSAV) - The Economic Opportunity Authority (EOA) of Savannah-Chatham County will provide energy assistance to residents of Pooler on Friday, January 24.
The heating aid, offered through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), is designed to help low-income households with energy costs, particularly during the winter months.
According to the City of Pooler, the program "aims to ensure that eligible families, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and young children, do not face a financial hardship in keeping their homes heated".
Assistance will be given on an appointment basis beginning at 9:00 a.m. Friday at Pooler City Hall, located at 100 US Highway 80 SW, Pooler, Ga. 31322.
Requirements for receiving assistance include the following:
Current light & gas bill, unless total electric (showing the amount owed)
Social Security card for each member of the household
Photo ID for the applicant
Proof of income for the last 30 days for each adult in the household (e.g., pay stubs, Social Security benefits, unemployment benefits)
