Man allegedly steals lottery tickets from 13 Richmond stores

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- After a man allegedly stole lottery tickets from 13 stores throughout Richmond, police are asking the public's help to find him.
According to the Richmond Police Department, detectives are asking the public's help to find a man captured on surveillance cameras who allegedly stole lottery tickets from multiple stores throughout the city in December and January.
Police said employees at local convenience stores reported that the suspect entered their stores and requested several scratch-off lottery tickets. When the clerk placed the lottery tickets on the counter, officials said the suspect would ask the clerk for another item.
While the employee was distracted, the suspect would reportedly grab the lottery tickets from the counter and run from the store.
According to police, the suspect wore a distinctive light-colored hoodie with a photo of a boy on the front and back. Officials released the following images taken on surveillance cameras in an effort to assist the public to identify the suspect:

The following locations reported thefts from the suspect:
Dec. 20, 2024: 200 block of West Main Street
Dec. 21, 2024: 2800 block of West Broad Street
Dec. 21, 2024: 1100 block of West Main Street
Dec. 22, 2024: 2300 block of Chamberlayne Avenue
Dec. 28, 2024: 1100 block of West Main Street
Dec. 21, 2024: 2900 block of Patterson Avenue
Dec. 30, 2024: 2900 block of Patterson Avenue
Dec. 31, 2024: 5200 block of Chamberlayne Avenue
Jan. 3, 2025: 2100 block of Semmes Avenue
Jan. 3, 2025: 1200 block of Westover Hills Boulevard
Jan. 7, 2025: 5000 block of Brook Road
Jan. 11, 2025: 3600 block of West Cary Street
Jan. 19, 2025: 2100 block of Semmes Avenue
Detectives are currently working with Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Police and investigators with the Virginia Lottery to identify and find the suspect.
