QUINCY, Mass. (WPRI) — The trial for New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers was postponed Wednesday due to a water main break in the area, according to the court clerk's office. Peppers, 29, was scheduled to go on trial Thursday on domestic violence charges. He was arrested last October for allegedly shoving his girlfriend’s head into a wall and repeatedly choking her at his Braintree home. He pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a Class B substance believed to be cocaine. BACKGROUND: Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers arrested on assault charges Police said his Peppers' girlfriend refused to go to a hospital and was treated at the home for her injuries. Peppers missed seven games since being placed on the Commissioner's exempt list on Oct. 9 following the incident. He was removed from the list on Nov. 25 and lost his role as a team captain. He appeared in only two of the Patriots' final five games this season due to injuries. His current contract with the Patriots runs through 2027. Close Thanks for signing up!
