The South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) awarded $205,000 in grants to five businesses across the state for installation of ethanol blender pumps. These grants are part of the Ethanol Blender Pump Grant program, which aims to expand the availability of ethanol blends and support local agriculture. The following businesses have been awarded grants: H Real Estate Holdings, Brookings: $55,000 for four new pumps; K&K Convenience, Watertown: $45,000 for three new pumps; C Express, Aberdeen: $45,000 for three new pumps; Gas N Goodies, Aberdeen: $35,000 for two new pumps; and Gerstner Oil, Yankton: $25,000 for one new pump. “These grants demonstrate our commitment to expanding ethanol infrastructure and providing more choices to consumers,” said GOED Commissioner Joe Fiala. “By supporting the installation of blender pumps, we’re promoting the use of homegrown energy and strengthening South Dakota’s agricultural economy.” The Ethanol Blender Pump Grant program offers up to $25,000 for a station’s first blender pump and $10,000 for each additional pump. These pumps will be installed in 2025, providing consumers with more fuel choices at local stations.
