INDIANAPOLIS -- Caitlin Clark's foundation recently received a "significant book donation" from Scholastic, giving access to brand new children's books to those who need it.
According to a news release from the Caitlin Clark Foundation, 22,000 brand-new children's books were donated to the foundation. The books will be distributed to various programs that reach children who do not always have access to books for reading.
The foundation also announced an ongoing collaboration with Scholastic's national literacy program, the United States of Readers. According to the release, this program was founded in 2021 to provide students in under-resourced schools the chance to choose and own their own books.

"Reading and education have always been hugely important in my life," Clark said in the release. "I remember picking out the books from the Scholastic flyer and how empowering that was for me as a child, and how motivated I was to read. I want to help kids have the same experience, to develop their reading skills and open their imaginations to dream big."
Judy Newman, the chief impact officer at Scholastic, said in the release that Clark is a proven role model. Scholastic is "thrilled" to work with the foundation to make reading more accessible.
"We need to make radical moves and inspire meaningful improvement to change the trajectory of child literacy rates in America," Newman said in the release. "To do this, we need champion-level advocacy and support, which is what makes collaborating with Caitlin so exciting."
