INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One more really cold morning before we get to see temperatures warming back up. Highs still well below normal today but improvements for the end of the week and into the weekend.
TODAY: The cold weather advisory comes to an end at 10:00 this morning. We will see temperatures reach the double digits by the lunch hour. High temperatures today climbing into the low twenties. Still well below average for this time of year but at least temperatures are going in the right direction . Wind chill values will still be below zero through the midday hours. Finally after more than two days with wind chill values below zero we will see those feels like temperatures return into the positive territory for the afternoon.
We will see some cloud cover throughout the day today as a weak storm system off to the west of us begins to move in. We will see a few flurries develop later tonight and into very early tomorrow morning.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy conditions during the overnight hours with a few flurries developing towards Daybreak. We will see temperatures stay fairly steady into the upper teens and lower 20s. The brutal cold air retreats back to the north.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy skies on Thursday a few flurries will be possible with little to no accumulation expected. High temperatures will actually get closer to 30 degrees for the afternoon.
7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: A brief cooldown on Friday under partly cloudy skies we’ll see temperatures fall back into the mid-20s. But a warm-up heads this way for the weekend.
We’ll look for dry conditions both Saturday and Sunday. Partly cloudy skies with some sunshine on Saturday highs in the upper thirties. Temperature stay into the upper thirties on Sunday under a mostly cloudy sky. Next week temperatures look like they will stay into the 30s so it looks like we may see our snowpack come to an end.
