DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) - Hadley Danielle Baker, a 12-year-old De Pere girl who has been battling a rare soft tissue cancer, has passed away, according to an update from the official Hope for Hadley Facebook page. Around 9:40 a.m. on January 22, the Hope for Hadley Facebook page began by saying, "The strongest warrior that we all know and love is now our angel." Many within the De Pere community and northeast Wisconsin have recently rallied behind Hadley and her family through her months-long battle with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer. Hadley gave it her all these last few days in true Hadley style and was surrounded by her family and close friends the entire time. She was at peace and in the arms of her sisters Lily and Macy at the time of her passing. Hadley is the definition of strength and will continue to live on in all of our hearts. May we all remember her ‘never give up’ attitude and that All it takes is all you’ve got. Our District and the broader De Pere community have supported Hadley through her courageous cancer journey with numerous fundraisers, messages of hope and support, and most recently, the award of a varsity basketball letter during a high school game, based on her love for and involvement in basketball from an early age. She and the Baker family have left a handprint on the hearts and minds of many in De Pere through the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
