CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Some lanes on the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge reopened to vehicle traffic Wednesday afternoon.
The bridge closed around 8 p.m. Tuesday due to hazardous conditions as ice, sleet, and snow fell overnight and during the morning hours.
Charleston Police said lanes heading into Mount Pleasant from the I-26 eastbound on-ramp are the only lanes opened as of 11:51 a.m.
Police say all other ramps to and from the bridge are still closed.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation utilized snowplows and salt trucks overnight and throughout the morning to clear snow and sleet from the bridge and other roadways.
