BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Daniel Diaz connected with the girl through the video game platform Roblox. They met and, by Diaz's own admission, engaged in sex acts.
They were in the back seat of Diaz's car when a relative of the girl found them "cuddling" and called police, according to a court filing.

Diaz was 21 at the time; the girl was 14.

Diaz told police after his June 2023 arrest that the girl never told him her age -- but he believed she was a minor due to her "small appearance."
He pleaded no contest last year to charges of engaging in sex acts with a minor and contacting a minor to commit a sex act. Four other felony counts were dismissed.
