A Cold Weather Advisory continues on for central Indiana until 10 a.m. today. Wind chills are dangerously cold Wednesday morning. Most locations are registering a wind chill in the range of -15° to -20°. The arctic air will retreat today but we remain cold. Winds have shifted out of the south and will turn breezy with gusts between 25-30 mph late this morning through the afternoon. This will usher in "milder" air and take temperatures to near 20° this afternoon. That's an improvement after not making it out of the single digits Tuesday afternoon. Clouds will increase this afternoon and evening. The extra cloud cover and southwesterly winds will keep temperatures from dropping as far tonight. We only fall to the mid teens by early Thursday morning. A few flurries and isolated light snow will develop overnight with additional scattered, light snow showers returning Thursday afternoon. This will not be a big snow maker, but a dusting to a few tenths of an inch will be possible. Watch for slick spots on the roadways. Another cold front passes Friday but it will not be as severe as what we experienced early in the week. This is quickly followed by a new warmup that will take temperatures above freezing over the weekend. We will be flirting with 40° early next week.
