HONOLULU (KHON2) -- A cold front currently sits west of Kauai and is advancing towards Hawaii. Showers are expected to increase early morning for Kauai, and eventually to Oahu, Maui County and Hawaii Island. Some showers may be heavy at times. Drier weather returns Thursday through Saturday, with another cold front arriving on Sunday.
Tuesday Night:
Light winds will continue due to an approaching cold front and a low-pressure area.
Land breezes will develop, clearing skies over leeward areas.
Wednesday:
A cold front will arrive, bringing showers, some possibly heavy.
Northwest winds will increase, drying out the air.
Thunderstorms are possible.
Thursday:
Cool and dry conditions in the west.
Lingering moisture and instability may bring isolated thunderstorms to the Big Island.
Temperatures will drop significantly.
