The bitterly cold will slowly moderate today with morning temperatures moving into the single digits by noon and into the upper teens by late afternoon.
Wind chills will still be bitterly cold through much of the morning

Skies will be mostly cloudy today ahead of a weather system that moves in overnight bringing some light snow to the area.
High temperatures will be in the upper teens this afternoon
Most areas will only see a coating of snow to about 1/2" overnight and through Thursday. The biggest change you'll notice Thursday is that afternoon high temperatures will be in the upper 20s.
Friday will be slightly colder with a high around 20 under mostly cloudy skies.
Scattered light snowfall is possible on Thursday
The biggest change will come over the weekend with highs above freezing Saturday. This warming trend will continue into next week with high temperatures in the upper 30s and lower 40s by the mid-week.
Most areas will see less than 1/2" of snowfall through Thursday
