SEQUOIA NATIONAL FOREST, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The Tulare County Sheriff's Office is warning residents to be aware of winter conditions after three people were rescued from the snow in Sequoia National Forest over the weekend. The Tulare County Sheriff's Office says their dispatch received a satellite 911 alert about three people stranded near Buck Rock in the Sequoia National Forest late Saturday night. Dispatchers learned their vehicle got stuck in the snow, and one person was also experiencing medical complications. The sheriff's office search and rescue team responded, and sheriff's officials say they were able to get the group out of the area and to safety. After this incident, Sheriff Boudreaux wanted to remind the public of the potential dangers of winter conditions in the mountain areas, advising people to stay prepared with proper clothing, blankets, food, water and always have a plan, including letting loved ones know when heading out.
