Housing to address homelessness coming to Hanford

HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - An initiative will be set into place in Hanford to help bring people off the streets and eventually into permanent housing.
The Kings Community Action Organization (KCAO) in partnership with Kings County Behavioral Health will open the Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH).
“The opening of the Behavioral Health Bridge Housing program is a significant step towardbreaking the cycle of homelessness for individuals in our community who are facing mentalhealth challenges,” said Community Development Manager for KCAO Savino Perico.
KCAO says the initiative addresses a critical need by offering short-term housing designed to help vulnerable clients move from homelessness into permanent housing.
“By combining housing with supportive services, we are creating a pathway to stability and self-sufficiency for some of the most vulnerable members of Kings County,” said Perico.
Officials say the BHBH program will serve as a stable and structured environment where people can access supportive services as they seek, apply for and secure long-term housing solutions.
Anyone seeking more information on the BHBH program or services provided can call 559-585-1018 or visit the KCAO website.
