WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- Taylor Price is a 13-year-old artist. When she was nine, she created her business, Crafts For Cancer. She donates 50% of her profits to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital after learning about how they helped a person close to her.
"They saved my uncle when he was a baby," Price said. "He had about an 8% chance of living, and now the statistic has gone up for kids living. They saved him without any charge, so I want to help that happen. He still lives in Andover, so he's in the community, and he's living a really happy life because of St. Jude."
Since she started her business, she has donated about $2,000 to St. Jude. She hopes to donate $10,000 by the time she graduates.
"He's alive and very well, and it's all because of St. Jude, so I just want to thank St. Jude in this kind of way and help other kids so other people have the story I have to tell where people live from cancer," Price said.

Price does digital art, traditional art and mixed media. Her inspiration is her grandma.
"My grandmother, she passed away about two years ago, but she loved art," Price said. She said her one regret in life was not going to art school, so I'm planning on going to art school."
Her Grandma, Becky Price, loved oil painting and oil pastels. She had art in museums and exhibits.
"She is really the only reason I do art," Price said.
Price says her favorite part is meeting the people who come up to the booth and hearing their stories. She says many of the people who come up to her booth have experienced cancer themselves.
"We have donation links, and when people come up to the booth, they donate and spend their own money on helping other people," Price said. "I feel like that's an important thing looking at today, where everybody's out for themselves and corporate businesses have so much greed. I feel like it's hopeful to see people actually come together and give their own hard owned cash to people who need it."
Price recently won a Silver Key for Scholastic Art award. See her page here.
