WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- A Derby man was seriously hurt in a crash on Kansas Highway 42 Tuesday afternoon. The Kansas Highway Patrol says just before 2 p.m., the 31-year-old man was driving west on K-42 between Interstate 235 and Hoover Road when, for an unknown reason, he veered to the left. His Chevy Aveo crossed the median, crossed the eastbound lanes, and went off the road. 1 dead after southeast Wichita apartment fire The car came to rest in the tree line just south of the highway. EMS took the man to a local hospital for treatment. No other vehicles were involved, and no one else was hurt in the accident.
