ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It is the most points they have scored in a basketball game this season. Mike Bradbury's UNM women's basketball team defeated the Utah State Aggies 101-79 in Logan, Utah Tuesday night. The Lobos went into halftime leading 48-38. A big third quarter from UNM guard Viane Cumber helped the Lobos pull away. Cumber accounted for 20 points in the final two-quarters of the game, scoring 25 overall. Alyssa Hargrove also made a strong contribution as she scored 20 points with 8 rebounds, 9 assists, and 4 steals. Four Lobos scored in double figures. Joana Magalhaes scored 17 points while Destinee Hooks finished with 15 to complete the four. Cheyenne Stubbs scored 24 points to lead the Aggies in a losing effort. With the win, the Lobos improved to 13-7 overall and 6-1 in the Mountain West. Utah State dropped to 1-18 overall and 0-7 in league play. They have lost 16 straight games. The Lobos will host Fresno State on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Aggies are on the road at San Jose State on Saturday.
