RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Residents are urged to stay out of the James River at this time due to extreme cold and dangerous conditions. According to a post on X from How's The James RVA, the water temperatures at the James River poses a threat of severe hypothermia within minutes of contact. The organization advised to stay away from the water and not participate in recreational activities. The current water level is 4.7 ft with a temperature of 33.6 degrees.
