TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A 14-year-old boy was seriously hurt in a violent motorbike crash in Taunton on Tuesday. Resident Carlos Vieira said it happened right in front of his home on Route 138. “I saw the kid on the floor, he was barely breathing,” Vieira said. “It was not a good scene to see.” The crash was caught on Vieira’s home surveillance system around 3 p.m. The tape shows the boy swerving his motorbike into an oncoming sedan near Silverwood Drive. “After I saw the kid on the floor, I came in to look at the camera,” Vieira said. “Then I saw that crash, how sad it is. I hope the kid is ok.” Taunton police said the boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and added that a 17-year-old girl driving the car was not hurt. The hectic scene was not a shock to Vieira, who said he’s grown accustomed to crashes in the area. “They’re speeding from both directions, it doesn’t matter,” Vieira said. “Someone came all the way down the other side and hit the garage.” Just one day before Tuesday’s crash, another video Vieira shared showed a car hitting a tree. The crash was mere feet from the same intersection. “I got three young kids, I don’t even like letting them stay outside,” Vieira said. “They have to play in the back, because you never know when they’re going to come into the yard.” Tuesday’s crash is under investigation by both the Taunton Police Department and Massachusetts State Police. Investigators have not released any specifics as to what caused the crash. Categories: Massachusetts, News
