Correctional officers checked for 'potential exposure' after ACI incident

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway after an someone allegedly tampered with an electrical outlet in a cell at the ACI and triggered the smoke alarm Tuesday evening.
R.I. Department of Corrections spokesperson J.R. Ventura said inmates were moved temporarily from John J. Moran Medium Security Facility out of an abundance of caution.
Ventura said some correctional officers are being "checked by medical personnel for exposure," but did not elaborate further.
