EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- Three teenagers have been arrested after one of them allegedly pointed a rifle at police officers before they crashed their car and then tried to flee on foot, El Paso Police said. The following individuals were arrested and are facing charges after an early morning incident on Friday, Jan. 17 in East El Paso: Joshua Dominic Parga, 19, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle; and possession of a controlled substance; total bond: $33,500. Gavin James Kish, 19, unlawful carrying of a weapon; bond: $2,500. Michael Espindola, 18, two counts of aggravated assault on a public servant; total bond: $10,000. Police say that around 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 17, they were patrolling the area near Edgemere and Lee Trevino when they heard shots fired. The officers began to check the area and began to drive eastbound on Edgemere. That is when they observed a car also traveling east on Edgemere. As the officers were pulling up to the other vehicle, they observed a person pointing a rifle out the window at them, police said. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but it fled, police said. A man, later identified as Parga, ended up crashing the car he was driving after a short vehicle pursuit, police said. All three tried to flee on foot after the crash, but were taken into custody. All three were booked into El Paso County Detention Facility on the the above-listed charges. Police recovered a rifle and two handguns from the vehicle, they said.
