LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A man is facing charges after police say he beat his wife to death. Police charged Clarence Pinckney with first-degree murder. Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on Lee Lawing Road around 10:30 Tuesday morning. The Sheriff’s Office says it received a call from the suspect who said he had killed his wife. The 68-year-old was taken into custody without incident. He is being held without bond.
