AUSTIN (KXAN) -- As President Donald Trump was inaugurated as the United States' 47th president on Monday, some Texans were also seen in attendance at the event. Gov. Greg Abbott As Trump addressed the inauguration's overflow crowd at the Capitol Building's Emancipation Hall, he made a mention of building the border wall in South Texas. Dan Patrick was also in attendance at Trump's inauguration with Abbott on Monday. Attorney General Ken Paxton also released a statement from his office on Monday celebrating Trump's inauguration: "It is a great day in America. President Trump’s inauguration marks the beginning of a new era and the triumphant return to the foundational principles that make America great. Together, we will secure our borders, uphold the law, and restore the freedoms that Biden’s unlawful policies sought to undermine."
