COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — In addition to welcoming a championship to central Ohio, some families are also welcoming newborns.
“The last 24 hours have been, as fast as they’ve come, it’s been just awesome," Jeremy Alls said.

As the Buckeyes were celebrating their national title, some central Ohio families were celebrating their babies' first minutes on earth.
Alls and Jesiah, his fiancé, just welcomed Adonis, their son, into the world. Like other babies born at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center on Monday, he was wrapped in a special "Born a Champion 2025" swaddle.
“For him to be born, yeah, on the day we become national champs, it's almost like in a sense he himself, he’s just a champion in the making," Alls said.
Alls is a lifelong Buckeye fan and planned to watch the game at home. Adonis had other plans.
Jerod Smalley commentary: How failure fueled Buckeyes’ greatness
“Quite literally, it was the very first drive of the game and she (Jesiah) looks over at me and she’s like, ‘We've got to go to the hospital right now,’" Alls said. “I think it was about 20 minutes after the game ended, bam, there he was. I was just like, ‘Wow. That's fate all in itself.’”
Other babies around the area decided championship day would be their birthday too. Kyla Barbour gave birth to her daughter Nova at OhioHealth's Grant Medical Center Monday morning about 12 hours before kickoff. She's a recent Ohio State fan, but her husband has always loved the Buckeyes.
“He’s excited,” Barbour said. “He’s been smiling, smiling and staring at her calling her the championship baby.”
From final whistle to the first breath, it wasn't in Jeremy and Jesiah's playbook, but they are glad it's in their memory book.

“To say it's a dream come true is something short, if I'm being honest,” Alls said. “I mean there's just no real way to describe the feeling of not only just having my first son, or son in general, but to have it coincide with something so cool as my favorite college football team winning the national championship.”
Babies born at the Wexner Medical Center for the rest of January will be given the special champion swaddles, according to a social media post from the hospital.
