RPD: 16 more cars damaged between Vick Park A and Werner Park, adding to city wide breakins
Jan 21, 2025
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Ten cars were broken into on Vick Park A with an additional six broken into on Werner Park, Rochester Police confirm.
This follows just four days after the Rochester Police Department confirmed that an estimated 40 cars were broken into across both the South Wedge and Park Avenue neighborhoods.
RPD also said their investigation uncovered a stolen white Kia which may be connected to last week's break-ins. It was found abandoned on Seward Street.
Although these are not confirmed to be connected, reoccurring break-ins date as far back as the 2024 holiday season with multiple break-ins happening outside of churches during mass and the Parklawn Apartments.
News 8 will be speaking with Mayor Malik Evans on the series of break-ins throughout the city and will provide more information here as we learn more.
Officers are following up on multiple leads. Anyone whose car has been damaged or has any information is encouraged to call 911.
