FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A 25-year-old man from Fresno was sentenced to over six years in prison for distributing fentanyl, according to the Department of Justice. The DOJ says 25-year-old Christian Gonzalez of Fresno, distributed 10 fentanyl pills to a person on July 20, 2020. One of the pills he distributed to a victim, and they ended up overdosing and dying, according to the DOJ. About a month later an undercover law enforcement officer posing as a drug-buying customer, ordered fentanyl pills from Gonzalez and met him in a parking lot for the purchase, according to the DOJ. The DOJ says Gonzalez brought fentanyl pills to the meeting and he was arrested. On July. 29, 2024 he pleaded guilty to the distribution of fentanyl. Gonzalez was sentenced to six years and eight months in prison.
