FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Multiple Central Valley fire crews that went to Los Angeles to help with the fires have returned. Fires that were burning throughout Los Angeles and continue to burn are the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire. According to Cal Fire's website, as of Tuesday, the Palisades Fire is 63% contained and the Eaton Fire is 89% contained. The crews that have returned home are the Kingsburg Fire Department and the Los Banos Department. Kingsburg Fire Department posted that firefighters and the Central Valley Strike Team XFR 5000A have returned home after nearly two weeks of assisting with firefighting efforts on the Eaton Fire, in Pasadena and Altadena region of Southern California. Los Banos Fire Department also returned home Monday evening. On Day 13, they were released from the Strike Team assignment. Los Banos Fire says thank you to all the departments that made up the rest of the Strike Team 500A- Fresno Fire, Kingsburg Fire, Selma Fire and the Sanger Fire Department. The Merced Fire Department returned home on Sunday, Jan. 19. The department, along with Kern County Fire, and the Bakersfield Fire Department sent 18 members of the task force and were deployed since Jan. 8. The Dinuba Fire Department also returned on Jan. 19.
