Suspect arrested in deadly 7car San Francisco crash

(KRON) – The San Francisco Police Department has identified a man who allegedly caused a deadly seven-car crash that happened Sunday evening in San Francisco's SoMa neighborhood.
Jia Lin Zheng, 66, was arrested and booked for multiple charges including vehicular manslaughter, reckless driving causing injury, felony vandalism and speeding.
The crash happened just after 6 p.m. in the area of 6th and Harrison streets. Among the vehicles involved was a driverless Waymo robotaxi, which was hit and then crashed into multiple vehicles.
According to Waymo, the autonomous vehicle was struck from behind by a speeding car that was going about 98 miles per hour. The Waymo was unoccupied.

One of the victims was found dead at the scene, and two victims were taken to the hospital for life-threatening injuries. There was a total of eight victims. According to the fire department, a dog also died at the scene.
Before the crash, there were multiple hit-and-run collisions on northbound I-280. Investigators are working to determine if that is related to the Harrison Street crash.
