WAREHAM, Mass. (WWLP) - A Wareham woman was sentenced in federal court on Tuesday for selling fentanyl to a man who died of an overdose as a result. Suspects arrested, gun recovered in connection with Cambridge St. shooting Kayla Nightingale, 37, was indicted in October 2020 alongside her co-conspirator Troy Jones and in August 2024 Nightingale pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and distribution of fentanyl. Nightingale and Jones worked together distributing fentanyl in the Wareham area from January 2019 through at least April 3, 2019. One individual that Nightingale and Jones sold to, a 42-year-old Wareham man, died of a fentanyl overdose. Nightingale was sentenced to 52 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. She was also ordered to pay $7,868 in restitution to the victim's family for funeral expenses.
