RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Looking to spend time outdoors and work in forestry? The Virginia Department of Forestry is hiring technicians, seasonal firefighters and foresters.
The department's mission is to protect and develop healthy, sustainable forest resources for Virginians.
As of Tuesday, Jan. 21, applications are being accepted for the following positions:
Full-time program support technician for the central region, with a salary ranging between $37,000 and $50,000
Full-time area forestry in the Shenandoah district, with a salary range starting at $43,888
Full-time forest technician in the southern rivers district, with a salary ranging between $37,000 and $45,000
Full-time forest technician in the headwaters district, with a salary ranging from $37,000 to $45,000
Full-time forest technician in the New River district, with a salary ranging from $37,000 to $45,000
Hourly Sussex nursery technician, with a rate of $15 per hour
Hourly seasonal firefighter, with a starting rate of $20 per hour
Full-time area forester in the Tidewater district, with a salary range starting at $43,888
