CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Chesterfield County nonprofit dedicated to helping older residents live independently announced that its first-ever Brunswick Stew fundraiser sold over 350 quarts of stew. On Saturday, Jan. 18, the Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield held its first-ever Brunswick Stew Fundraiser. Over 350 quarts of Brunswick Stew -- prepared by award-winning chef Chiles Cridlin of Wolf’s Revenge BBQ -- were sold during the event. The funds raised by stew sales will go towards the center's mission of improving the lives of older adults through volunteer services and educational opportunities. According to organizers, the Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service of Chesterfield helped fund this event. Visitors at Metro Richmond Zoo can meet endangered pygmy hippo up close in new experience "The overwhelming support from our community and the talent of Chef Chiles Cridlin made this event an incredible success," said Susan McCammon, executive director of the Shepherd's Center of Chesterfield. "The funds raised will help sustain our vital programs, including transportation for seniors and lifelong learning classes."
