SEEKONK, Mass. (WLNE) — Police are investigating a serious crash on Route 195 East in Seekonk Tuesday night. The crash occurred under the Anthony Street overpass and caused a significant traffic backup. Massachusetts State Police responded to the crash at 4:30 p.m., a spokesperson said. The first troopers who arrived on scene found a GMC Sierra on fire, and reported that it had struck a median barrier. The driver was seriously injured, state police said. The state police accident reconstruction team was called to assist with the investigation. MassDOT reported serious injuries in the crash. Earlier, traffic was diverted off of Route 195 East onto the Pawtucket Avenue exit in East Providence prior to the Massachusetts state line. #NOW: Police are investigating a crash on 195 East in Seekonk.
