PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island has launched its annual survey for students, families, and educators to share feedback on schools statewide. R.I. Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green and the R.I. Department of Education (RIDE) announced the start of the 2025 SurveyWorks on Tuesday. The online survey aims to gather insights and data to improve the state's education system and school experience. That data is then incorporated into the state's Report Card platform, which families can use to understand the strengths and challenges of their schools. According to RIDE, SurveyWorks touches upon topics like students' sense of belonging, respect between students and teachers, school safety, and college and career readiness. Families can access the survey online and select their child's school from the dropdown menu. School leaders may use emails and social media to promote the survey, as well as set up devices at school to help people complete it. Printed surveys are available in some cases, but typically take longer to finish and process. In 2024, the state got more than 130,000 responses to the survey, which was the most in a single year to date. The school department said the highest response rates were from teachers and families. "When we look at how we can pave the way to success for students, families and educators, we must consider their critical insight to implement the best supports possible for students," Infante-Green said. "I encourage all students, educators, and families to participate and make their voices heard." For more information, including access to promotional resources and last year's results, visit RIDE’s SurveyWorks page online. Families with questions are encouraged to contact their schools directly. AHEAD: Budget panel eyed for $9M Warwick school deficit Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox.
