LA CROSSE, Wis. (WFRV) – A 17-year-old Wisconsin boy was arrested following an alleged attempted armed robbery on Monday night. The La Crosse Police Department responded to a report of a weapon in the 2000 block of West Avenue South. 24-year-old in Wisconsin dead after early morning rollerover crash According to the victim, they were in their vehicle when a suspect, later identified as Anthony J. Ulvestad, approached wearing a ski mask. Ulvestad reportedly struck the car window with a gun and pointed it at the victim. However, the car doors were locked, and the victim drove away. Officers arriving at the scene observed a suspicious vehicle. When police attempted contact, a passenger exited the vehicle and fled. The individual was quickly located hiding in the 2100 block of 16th Street South. During the investigation, officers determined the individual was the suspect in the gun complaint and had discarded a loaded handgun nearby. Ulvestad was arrested and transported to the La Crosse County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including attempted armed robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, resisting or obstructing an officer, possession of a dangerous weapon by someone under 18, intentionally pointing a firearm at a person and felony bail jumping.
